Wycliffe Bible Translators International and Summer Institute of Linguistics (the sister organization that trains people in translating for people who do not have a written language yet combined together to hold ICON 08 (International Conference). The conference theme was "Understanding The Times...Knowing What To Do" a line taken from 1 Chronicles 12:32. There were posters with these words in different languages on the walls of the conference hall.
It was a conference that used power point presentations, simultaenous translations for non-English speaking delegates...


Breakfast and lunch were buffet meals with a wide variety of food and plenty of it. The fantastic range of tropical fruits was often the best part of it.
